Meanwhile, Athletic Bilbao are keen on bringing Herrera back to the club four-and-a-half years after he joined United.
But the 29-year-old has no plans to return to Spain, a feeling that has been reinforced by interim boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer starting him in three of his five games in charge.
Young has also become a regular under Solskjaer having made the right-back position his own, however he wants guarantees over his future opportunities.
Clubs from China, Italy, Spain and the United States are monitoring the 33-year-old’s situation as he seeks a deal to extend his eight-year association with the club.
