Who is Frankie Boyle?
Frankie Boyle is a 45-year-old comedian from Glasgow, known for his pessimistic humour and controversial comments.
On television, he was most known for being a permanent panellist of Mock the Week – a comedy show that looks back on news topics from the week before.
He was on the show for four years but eventually left amid complaints about some of his jokes.
Frankie later fronted his own show, Tramadol Nights, with Channel 4, which was cancelled after one series.
He has since been seen on BBC iPlayer for his ‘Autopsy’ specials – one-off satirical shows that covered the Scottish referendum, general election in the UK and American election.
The star has also taken turns as the guest host of Have I Got News For You.
Frankie has previously revealed that he is teetotal after becoming an alcoholic that dabbled in drugs by the age of 22.
He has two children, a daughter and a son.
His series Tramadol Nights sparked outrage in viewers and was cancelled after only one season[/caption]
What happened between Frankie Boyle and Katie Price?
Frankie caused outrage back in 2010 when he made vicious comments at the expense of Katie Price’s eldest son, Harvey, then aged eight.
Harvey has been diagnosed with a list of conditions including Prader-Willi Syndrome, blindness and autism, and is registered disabled.
In the jibe, which aired during Tramadol Nights, he said:”Apparently Jordan and Peter Andre are fighting each other over custody of Harvey – well eventually one of them’ll lose and have to keep him.
“I have a theory that Jordan married a cage fighter [Alex Reid] because she needed someone strong enough to stop Harvey from f***ing her.”
Katie, who has campaigned against bullying, said: “If Mr Boyle had a tenth of his courage and decency he would know that to suggest, let alone think funny, that Harvey may sexually attack me is vile and deeply unfair.
“Mr Boyle clearly has serious issues and those that give him a TV platform to say such disgusting things need to look at themselves very honestly.”
Peter Andre also jumped to the defence of the boy, and said that “children, especially a youngster, should be off limits”.
Frankie initially found fame as a Mock the Week panellist, but he left the show in 2009[/caption]
Who else has Frankie Boyle offended?
Frankie is a no-holds-barred comedian and as a result, it appears that no one is off limits when it comes to his performances.
In a long list of offensive remarks, he has commented on Olympian Rebecca Adlington’s appearance, made jibes against those with Down’s Syndrome and compared Palestine to “a cake being punched to pieces by an angry Jew”.
He was also cut from the aired comedy special Give It Up for Comic Relief after he made comments about Jimmy Saville’s sexual abuse scandal, Comic Relief, Oscar Pistorius and the Pope in the space of a six-minute segment.
