SKINCARE brand The Ordinary is infamous for it’s cheap products that not only are ingredient-focused, but actually work.

Cutting out fancy packaging and expensive marketing, the cult brand has passed on the costs for its customers, and this month is no different with he launch of it’s latest products.

The £5.50 Squalane Cleanser sold out after launching on The Ordinary’s website

The £5.50 Squalane Cleanser sold out online during the first 24 hours it was on sale, and the brand is now furiously trying to keep up with demand, according to a spokeswoman for the brand.

The not-so-secret ingredient squalane, the concentrated form of the fate squalene that’s naturally found in our bodies, is thought to be nourishing for the skin.

Found in our skin’s natural oils, and in some plants, the ingredient is a source of ‘replenishing fatty acids and antioxidants’, according to the Skincare bible.

The most common type of squalane-derived products are oils, and The Ordinary sells one packed with the nutrients for around £5.

Their other top products include this Niacinamide and Zinc serum

If straight oils are a bit too much, they’re recommended as an excellent addition to normal moisturisers used before bed to give an extra dose of hydration.

The Squalane Cleanser acts like a makeup remover, removing eye makeup easily, and also acts as a thick moisturiser for anyone suffering with dry skin.

If you’re using it to remove makeup, you can rinse the product off with water, either in the shower or with water and your normal cleanser.

The Hyaluronic Acid and B5 serum is also a winning formula

While it’s not recommended as ideal for washing your face, as like many other oil based cleansers, it doesn’t actually cut through and cleanse your pores.

Other products that are also hot topic on The Ordinary’s website include the Niacinamide and Zinc Serum, £5, which is ideal for those who suffer from breakouts.

And the Hyaluronic Acid and Vitamin B5 Serum, £5.90, which helps to keep skin hydrated and skin looking glowing.
