MANCHESTER UNITED kid James Garner has signed a new long-term contract with the club.
The midfielder, who turned 18 this week, has been at United since the age of eight penned a deal to keep him at OId Trafford until 2022 with an option to extend for a further year.
Garner, dubbed the “new Michael Carrick” made his senior debut in the win at Crystal Palace and was on the bench for the historic Champions League win over Paris Saint-Germain.
Speaking after the game at Selhurst Park last month, Solskjaer was full of praise for the youngster.
The interim United boss said: “I believe he’s got the chance to have a great future.
“He knows we believe in him.

“We’ve got great faith in him as the next Michael Carrick.
“I know he’s young, I know it’s not fair on kids to compare to great players like Michael was, but he’s in the same mould.”
Juan Mata has also been impressed with his emergence, saying: “James, on top of being a great lad, is a great central midfielder who can pick his passes well and control the tempo of games – hopefully he has a huge career ahead of him.”
Barca go to Old Trafford on April 10 before United make the return trip six days later for the away leg.
