A DAD came up with an incredible way of making sure he bought a toaster that fitted his ideal thickness of bread.

The creative man cut a piece of cardboard that was the ideal height and width, after being frustrated with toasters not being deep enough for a chunky slice of bread.

Sumudu captioned the shot: “My best friend’s dad made a template of toast to take to Currys because he was sick of toasters not being deep enough.

“It’s labelled and everything! Wish I’d done that.”

The incredible hack struck a chord with online users, and racked up over 17,000 likes from people praising the man for finding a solution to the toaster shopping problem.

Another added: “Is he posting his findings? Will save time for lots of people and I for one would appreciate it.”

Meanwhile, one Twitter user commented: “Wholeheartedly agree with his statement. There needs to be a toaster standards agency.”

And one tweeted: “Not all heroes wear capes!”

Sumudu later weighed in on the huge response the toast template had received and said she was surprised.

She added: “I’m chuffed it’s resonated with so many people. I don’t really know what to tweet now though. I’m going quiet.”
