Coronation Street’s Carla Connor is to blame for Underworld collapse – but Peter Barlow desperately tries to cover up her fatal mistakeFebruary 12, 2019
CARLA Connor is going to be blamed for Underworld’s killer collapse- but her ex Peter Barlow is going to take extraordinary measures to keep it a secret.
The factory boss – who is played by actress Alison King in the ITV soap – is going to be left terrified when the roof collapses in and she realises she could be held responsible after not having it properly fixed when she found out about the issues.
But when she shares her fears with Peter in a moment of horror, he will take drastic measures and offer the builders £10k to keep their mouths shut about Carla’s role in the disaster that will see a beloved character killed off.
A source exclusively told The Sun Online: “Carla calls in the builders when she realises there’s a problem with the roof.
“But when they tell her it’s going to cost a fortune to fix it properly, she tells them to just patch it up.
“Carla’s warned the roof is unsafe but she ignores the advice and carries on.”
The source added: “Carla doesn’t even think about it and orders the staff to continue to working so they can fulfil a big order.
“She’s horrified and full of guilt when the roof collapses and realises she could be held responsible and is terrified the builder will spill how she was negligent.
“Peter realises Carla’s in serious trouble and offers the builder £10k to keep his mouth shut and protect her.”
Corrie boss Iain Macleod previously told The Sun Online about the huge stunt and heartbreaking death it will lead to.
He said: “It’s a colossal big stunt. It will at first appear to be an accident. It will then be revealed that it was a criminal enterprise that caused it to collapse.
“And someone will be dying in said collapse. This is the beginning of the next generation of a Corrie bad guy. The factory collapse will be the start of that.”

He added: “The death is really heartbreaking. There won’t be a dry eye in the house.
“We thought restricting the body count was a good thing and making it somebody we care about and the death we cared about at that point in their story.”
A Coronation Street spokeswoman declined to comment on storyline speculation.
