Who is Alan Carr? What is his background?

Alan Carr, 41, was born on June 14, 1976, and is an English comedian and TV star.

He was born in Weymouth, Dorset, and spent most of his childhood in Northampton before moving in his early 20s to Manchester, where he began his comedy career.

The Chatty Man’s breakthrough was in 2001, winning the City Life Best Newcomer of the Year and the BBC Best New Stand Up Awards.

In the years that followed, his career flourished on the Manchester comedy circuit before he shot to fame hosting The Friday Night Project with Justin Lee Collins.

Despite sharing the same last name, and the fact they are both comedians, he is no relation to Jimmy Carr.

The comedian has a reported net worth of £7.6 million.

What else has Alan Carr done in his career?

After the success of the Friday Night Project, he went solo and hosted Alan Carr’s Celebrity Ding Dong in 2008.

Following this, he fronted his own comedy chat show Alan Carr: Chatty Man, which aired on Channel 4 between 2009 and 2016.

He has also done three successful stand-up arena tours: Tooth Fairy Live (2007), Spexy Beast Live (2011) and Yap, Yap, Yap! (2015).

Alan also appeared on the Celebrity edition of the Great British Bake Off in March 2018 on Channel 4 which was in aid of Stand Up To Cancer.

The Chatty Man host and Paul, who have been together for ten years, got married in front of just four guests in a tiny US ceremony.

It was later revealed that pop superstar Adele acted as his wedding planner, organised the whole thing and insisted he had the wedding in her back garden!
