CHERYL Tweedy impressed fans today when she showed off her skills at hit playground dance the floss.

The 35-year-old showed off her skills at the hard-to-master move, beloved of schoolchildren across Britain, in a new backstage video from the BBC dance show.

Cheryl performed a masterful version of the floss backstage

In the clip, Chezza is seen pouting as she thrusts her hips in time to the music, alongside fellow ‘dance captain’ Oti Mabuse and host Jordan Banjo.

Wearing a purple bomber jacket with Eighties-style shoulder pads and lace-up trousers, Cheryl jerks her arms around to the tune.

She gradually speeds up before collapsing into laughter and admitting: “I learnt that from my nephew.”

Cheryl is returning for her second episode of The Greatest Dancer tomorrow night after the debut divided opinion and got narrowly beaten by The Voice.

Some viewers were confused by the format, which featured lots of padding and only 14 minutes of actual dancing throughout the 70-minute show.

Many others remarked that there was too much build-up and chit-chat with receptionist Amelia Wilson between the dances.

Dancing On Ice judge Jason Gardiner had earlier said Cheryl’s credentials to judge the show were “questionable”.

Even Eamonn Holmes had something to say about her appearance, asking: “I get the feeling this is a vehicle for Cheryl – is this about people or is it about Cheryl?”

Before the show begun, Cheryl admitted that she has the least amount of dance experience compared to the other judges.

She said: “They’ve had really long careers in dance and in performing arts.

“Mentoring other people one-on-one like I did on X Factor might help me with the mentality of how things go. But in terms of knowledge and stuff, they’re more than qualified.”
