Incredible stats show Man Utd flop Sanchez is Premier League’s assist kingJanuary 11, 2019
ALEXIS Sanchez has been far from a flop at Manchester United after creating the most “big” goalscoring chances in the Premier League this season, shocking new stats have revealed.
The £500,000-a-week forward has been heavily criticised since his Old Trafford switch in January last year.
The Chilean has only scored one goal this season, having grappled with fitness issues and fallen out with sacked United coach Jose Mourinho.
But new figures have emerged suggesting Sanchez might have not been given enough credit for his performances.
The 30-year-old forward tops the Premier League table for most big chances created, beating the likes of Eden Hazard and Mohamed Salah, among others.
Sanchez has gifted his team-mates six big goalscoring opportunities in the total of 505 minutes he has played in the current campaign – which equals to 1.07 per 90 minutes.

Just behind the Red Devils winger sits Bournemouth‘s Ryan Fraser, who created 17 chances.
The Scot, however, has not missed a single Premier League game this season – meaning his big chance per game ratio is at 0.91.
Meanwhile, Chelsea ace Eden Hazard is fifth in the table with a ratio of 0.68.

Former Gunner Sanchez has faced heavy criticism since his Old Trafford move in January last year.
After his prolific spell at the Emirates, the Chilean has only managed to net four goals and set up nine for the Red Devils.
And following a break-up in his relationship with former coach Mourinho, he was also thought to be considering leaving Manchester for Paris Saint-Germain.
But new United gaffer Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has revitalised the team since his arrival last month and said he looked forward to working with Sanchez.
Ahead of the FA Cup clash against Reading, the Norwegian revealed the winger was “itching” to play and started the match – days after notching an assist in United’s 2-0 victory over Newcastle.
