While most clubs using the site post ads for staff, including physios and masseurs, Stoke have taken the bold move of looking for big-name players.

Stoke describe themselves as a “recent former Premier League club now in the Championship” – with ex-Luton boss Nathan Jones taking over at the club this week.

The ad continues station they’re “looking for a player to help steady the ship for this season and push on for promotion next season.”

Mandatory experience includes Championship experience – but all three adds describe Champions League or Europa League experience as “desirable”.

The posts also show Stoke are in the market for a “pacey winger”, “physical centre-forwards” and “4th choice central defender”.

The Potters conclude their posts by saying: “Please only apply if you meet the above criteria.

“We will not consider candidates who do not have playing footage attached to their profile or do not meet the mandatory requirements.”

Stoke are currently struggling in 14th in the Championship having been relegated last term, with just eight wins from their 26 league games in 2018-19 and travel to Brentford on Saturday.
