Nick Knowles compressed two vertebrae in his neck and ripped shoulder tendons days before entering the jungleDecember 8, 2018
NICK Knowles has revealed he was injured during his time in the jungle after compressing two vertebrae in his neck and ripping two tendons in his shoulder just days before entering.
The 56-year-old was in pain throughout his stint on the show but decided to keep it from the public.
He revealed his injury for the first time on Extra Camp this evening – admitting that is why he was trying to work out so much and took so many dips in the freezing water.
Speaking to Scarlett Moffatt, he said: “I can be honest and tell the truth about this now.
“Seven days before I came in here I actually did a lot of damage to my neck and shoulder. The programme were great, I went to Harley Street and had an MRI and I discovered I had compressed two vertebra in my neck and ripped two tendons in my shoulder.”

He continued: “Bob, the camp doctor, has been looking after me. I had cortisone injections right before I went in there and whilst I was in there everyday I was talking to Bob and he was saying you have got to either attack it.
“So that’s why I exercised. The reason I went to sit in that pool , it was freezing. He said I could have an ice pack but I didn’t want an ice pack because then everyone at home would know I had an injury and I didn’t want anyone to know.”
