Alexis Sanchez kicks goal post after second penalty miss in week before making young fan’s dream come trueNovember 21, 2018
ALEXIS SANCHEZ would have done his confidence no good after missing his second successive penalty for Chile.
The out-of-form Manchester United forward missed from 12-yards in his country’s 4-1 win over Honduras.
It came after he missed a crucial penalty in Chile’s 3-2 defeat Costa Rica just days earlier.
There was added pressure on his shoulders as he stepped up against the Honduras stopper but his tame penalty was saved low to the keeper’s right.
Fortunately for Sanchez, the ball rebounded straight back into his path and he couldn’t miss to score Chile’s third.
Despite his goal he celebrated by taking his frustrations out by booting the post.
And immediately after his strike, one young Chile fan couldn’t resist from running onto the pitch to celebrate with his hero.
Sanchez showed his affectionate side by putting him around the boy before inviting him into the team’s dressing room after the game.
The child was given Sanchez’s match shirt and even his boots before posing alongside a picture with the delighted kid.
Alongside an image on Instagram was the caption: “the innocence of children is one of the things most beautiful.”
