Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho fuming with Ed Woodward after chief cancels January transfer target meeting at last-minuteNovember 5, 2018
JOSE MOURINHO is fuming after Manchester United chief Ed Woodward cancelled a transfer summit at the last minute.
Old Trafford boss Mourinho scheduled the meeting last week to talk January targets and discuss plans for the club to bring in a director of football.
But Mourinho was told at short notice that Woodward could not attend.
The Special One revealed to close advisors it had left him angry and frustrated.
And it has done nothing to help the already strained relationship between Mourinho and executive vice-chairman Woodward.
The Portuguese blames the inability to sign a top centre-back for United’s underwhelming start.
And he feels Woodward’s failure to act makes him complicit.
But the United hierarchy refused to sanction any moves — and the manager is now desperate to control recruitment.

Mourinho is disappointed by the players being put forward for the winter window and has lost faith in a number of senior scouts.
Yet far from getting more say over transfers, he could end up with less if the club opt to bring in a director of football.
One person United have NOT contacted about the role is RB Leipzig’s Paul Mitchell.
Mitchell, 37, told SunSport: “Any link with a club of that size and status is flattering and I’m a Manchester boy. There has not been any contact with United.”
